Our students will be invited to perform at our SDA Spring 2022 Showcase. Participation optional
Our Bollywood drop off class focuses on basic steps, postures and spatial positioning of the students. The teacher will work towards building student concentration and focus, encouraging them to work independently. Students will be taught to listen to musical cues/beats and time their moves with respect to the beat. Utmost importance will be given to developing hand - leg coordination. Students will be taught to be aware of their movements and transitions between moves. The session will start with a 5 min warm up followed by structured learning every week, ending with fun dance games. Students will be taught one 2-3 minute choreography by the end of 8 sessions. Practice Videos will be provided for at home practice.

Vaishnavi's love and enthusiasm for dance started at the young age of 6 when she started her training in Bharatanatyam. She continued her journey with dance by immersing herself in the Bollywood genre of dance on returning to India. Vaishnavi was a part of her school (National Public School HSR Layout, Bangalore) and college (A.I.M.S, B.G Nagara) dance teams, and has choreographed and won several team and solo events over the years namely Mantri Danceotsav held at Palace Grounds, Bangalore in 2011, Country Club Regional Dance Competition, Bangalore in 2008 and the Dance Face-Off at Tatvam Intercollegiate Fest held at JSS Medical College Mysuru in the year 2015. After completion of her M.B.B.S at Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Science, she auditioned for and completed her dance training through the Shiamak Davar's Half Yearly Program in Bangalore, where she trained in the basics of ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, gymnastics, and salsa. She has been a dancer at the glamorous Filmfare Awards 2020 along with the Shiamak Davar Dance Company. Vaishnavi is currently an aspiring Internal Medicine Residency Candidate and continues to follow her love, enthusiasm, and passion for dance. She continuously strives to better herself by learning routines through online workshops, from her friends and online tutorials.
